About Foxmole

Our mission

To make everyday online safety understandable and actionable for ordinary people, cutting through jargon and scare tactics so anyone can protect themselves and their family online.

Our vision

A web where staying safe doesn’t require being an expert: where clear, honest guidance is the default, and the average person can recognize a scam, secure an account, and browse with confidence.

What guides us

  • Clarity over complexity, practical steps anyone can follow.
  • Honesty over hype, sourced facts, no invented threats or statistics.
  • Empowerment over fear, we teach, we don’t frighten.

Our story

Foxmole started from a simple frustration: most online-safety advice is either too technical to follow or too vague to act on. We wanted a place that explains real threats in plain language and tells you exactly what to do, without the scare tactics.

We’re a small independent team who care about everyday digital safety: the phishing text your parent almost tapped, the lookalike login page, the “you’ve won” popup. We write for normal people, not security professionals.

How we work

  • We cite our sources. When we quote a statistic, we link to where it came from (for example, the FBI’s Internet Crime Report and the Anti-Phishing Working Group). If we can’t source a claim, we don’t make it.
  • We describe tools honestly. We explain what a security tool actually does and, just as importantly, what it does not do. We don’t overstate protection.
  • We flag our limits. No guide here is a guarantee against every threat, and we say so.
  • We correct mistakes. Spotted an error? Tell us and we’ll fix it, and note significant corrections on the page.
